Sentry 8501 Portal Monitor |
|
The Sentry 8501 Portal Monitor is a compact, versatile portal radiation monitoring system. Typically used to detect gamma radiation in excess of local background radiation, this system can be set to “alarm” at a preset level. Incidents of excessive radiation levels triggers an alarm, identifies the offending isotope, photographs the perpetrator, records the event data, and notifies the system supervisor of the incident. The Sentry 8501 Portal Monitor can be used at hospital emergency room entrances and exits (to monitor medical waste), commercial waste transfer stations, landfills, scrap metal yards, airport passenger terminals, shipping and receiving terminals, and pharmaceutical, medical and cancer research facilities. The Sentry 8501 is available as a single portal and multi-portal monitoring system. The system can accommodate up to 8 external detectors, and 1 internal detector. This allows for the monitoring of multiple portals or areas with a single Sentry 8501 system. Each detector can be set to trigger the alarms at its own level and to ignore common medical isotopes with energy levels below 500 KeV. A dedicated camera can be paired to each detector or monitored area. Report information is then linked to the specific detector that captures the violation. More |
